Cup Cars At Firebird
#5
Sorry, I stand corrected. I did drive out to Firebird first for the DE, by mistake. There was nothing going on there other than an Corvette club autocross......the place was dead...then I realized the NASA and Porsche DE was at PIR.....

I drove by there on Friday afternoon and there was a Kelly Moss truck with a Porsche race car parked next to it. Unfortnately, I didn't get to see it running as the Boundrant Vettes were using the track when I drove by.

Here's a couple of pics from the Kelly Moss team practice in Phoenix today. Unfortunately it was a bit wet out. No affiliation, just took a drive over to Firebird to see how the pros do it )

Pretty modest Brian, they could probably learn something from you!
Interiors on the RS's aren't stock... mildy stripped, race seat, full cages, nets, data aquisition, quick release race steering wheels, etc. They go pretty good.

Larson's car is not indential to those as it is a cup car.
Remember these cars are GT3 RS street cars with a cage and some suspension mods. These are NOT cup cars.

Are you bringing the car out for PCA at the end of the month or saving it for the next race? I've got new set of nittos on the white car just waiting for some heat cycles...If you're just instructing I'll bolt the extra seat in...
Joe's right they aren't cups but they look awful close when they fill the mirrors with green and orange...still pretty frickin fast...
Joe what was the final outcome for the spec race, did the results on mylaps stand?

"Brad Larson" had a Orange GT3RS like Dans but had different graphics prior to his cup car, and I believe he also did a 1;06 before he sold his for his cup.
Not trying to argue, just trying to point out that these can be pretty quick even as modded street cars.
FYI, mine is the Orange one in the picture without graphics, which is why I am aware of those times, and wondering how in the heck they did those.

I don't think Brad got into the 6's ever...I thought he mostly ran in the 8's. But I could be wrnog.
