How does a track get approved
Title says it all. Curious how SCCA gets a track approved for inclusion (protocol for approving a new track before added as an event). If you could point me in that direction please let me know (post here or pm). TIA!

I know we just went through this here in the PNW for the new track at Grass Valley. You could email the contact at http://www.oregonraceway.com for details... they finally got certified this fall after dealing with some issues in round 1 of the approval process. Lots of stuff involved including runoff, barriers, flag stations, fire safety, and more... but I don't know the specifics.

Find the SCCA "Executive Steward" in your division...in your case, it's likely
Tom Brown - tbrown"at"american-appraisal.com
or try the Deputy Exec - Jack Marr readthegcr"at"hotmail.com
SCCA actually has beasts called "Track Inspectors"...have the Exec (above) put you in touch with them...they can tell you about the requirements - "track emergency plan", facilities, etc. etc. etc...
