Alex, just viewed the video - WOW, that was horrifying...you definitely went for a ride and that was a pretty good hit indeed. Glad you're OK...cars are fixable, often times, people are not. Were you a bit sore later on? ...I know I would've been. WOW.
I still can't find it. Do you have a link?

Amazingly I am fine. Went to the gym today and got a massage! Link posted and I may leave it for awhile. I do think it provides value while not reflecting negatively on anyone. Certainly makes a great case for the halo.

The short session issue has been worked out with the Race Stewards and should not be an issue this year.

What is the "halo" you all talk about? Is it a specific seat technology or other?

Thanks,

Yes the seat has some method to restrain the head from side to side movment. It ranges from small slightly angled foward protrutions to large 90 deg angled foward padded bars.

The drivers seat flexed all the way to the pass side of the car and snapped back.

Here's an example of a halo seat that helps to restrain your head from lateral movements. Been thinking of getting one myself...

Just took another look at the video. Is that flexing of the seat normal? Would a seat back brace have helped? I guess a side net on the right side would be useful as well. The list goes on for the safety items to consider...

Yes, the seat is supposed to flex like that on impact but maintain its' integrity. The seat should probably be sent out for inspection after that hit. Don't see how a seat back brace would help in a side impact. A right-side net may have helped a little.
