Walter Röhrl states to join Nürburgring 24h race with stock 2010 Gt3RS.
Exiting to see what happens, and if car will be truly bone stock or not. Nice move anyways, will state a good argument on Porsches speed, if this try succeeds.

LOL, that's pretty awesome!
However, he'd be stupid not to have a full cage in the car, and I would bet they have slicks too, who would want to run 24 hrs on MPSC, especially the Nspec ones?
Wish they televised it over here.

Well how much stuff can you add and still call it standard? That is the reason I'm hesitant to declare what they will add.
And it will be difficult to get enough camber in the stock suspension to maintain slicks for longs stints over a 24 hr race, not only that but the grip will make the car pitch and roll a lot more than what the suspension was designed for which would still cause premature wear on the outside edges of the tires.
This is an endurance race, I wouldn't be so sure they don't run MPSC.

He talks specifically about how putting slicks overwhelms any stock suspension, and also about his thoughts on why he now chooses PDK over manual.
Heck, I wonder if the Meister could drive the Ring with street tires and be competitive?
