We took the new car out to CMP for a couple of test days last week. It ran well and is quicker than last year's car by a decent amount. Looking forward to Daytona testing in a few weeks.

Hey Cory,
that car in the pic is a 2010, is that the car you are going to run for the 24, I thought there were no 2010 grand am spec. cars. Or is that your IMSA car?

The pic is of G. Pennington's 2010 car he is running in the Patron series. Very cool car! We are running the 24 in our new to us 2009 grand-am model. The 09 grand am model is what we plan on running in the IMSA gtc class as well. GTC can be 2010 patron cars, 09 grand-am or 08 world challenge spec. I will post more of the 2010 later today.

I haven't seen an "official" word on why there is no rule set for 2010 cars, but it is easy to speculate. Grand Am works with Porsche Motorsports to determine specs on the cars, and PMNA has cars built specifically for Grand Am. The 2009 cars did not sell out last year, and I expect Porsche did not want to build a Grand Am version of the more desirable 2010 car, when they still had some '09s "on the shelf." Also, Grand Am likes stability in the rules. Porsches were allowed many new modifications for '09, and I expect they want to keep the cars as they are for another year.
