John, I know your a very successful club racer that is why I am surprised you are taking the view that she has no talent. Every time these threads come up about Pro talent it seems the guys/gals that have race wheel to wheel and have been schooled by a pro that shows up seem to realize that the level Danica drives at is still much higher than any club racer has attempted. Charlie Boyer made a great comment some time back to effect that the more he races the more he realizes there is so much more to learn.

That's not the point. The point is that she has a lot of talent and is far from mediocre (an adjective you used to describe her ability).

Of course her gender and generally accepted good looks helped her land rides. But she did pretty well with the opportunities that were offered to her. I doubt her vagina and good looks can be credited for finishing ahead of the likes of Greame Rahal, Marco Andretti, Dan Wheldon and Justin Wilson in the 2009 season.... That's a fact, she finished ahead of them and has shown more speed that them more often than not on ovals throughout 2009...

Any club racer that thinks they can can beat her is delusional. There is a reason beyond her marketability why she is still in pro racing. If she was a man we would not be having this debate

There are no more women being born in America. Only men with vaginas.

Think about it before you bash me.

She's very talented and initially proved herself at the British Formula
Ford Festival where she finished second. However, she's been provided
with close to the best equipment in the IRL, and has failed to show that
she should be included among the "Elite" drivers in the IRL. She's a good
not great driver, has the looks and the brains to market herself into
the darling of the IRL, which has brought fame and wealth! Expect her
to win several more races before her time is up, but not championships.

You are missing my point. My point is exactly that her gender and marketing assets (mainly because of her gender/looks) have helped her get rides with top teams, in top equipment, with plenty of track time, coaching, training, etc and with all that she is where she is. If she were a marketable/ wealthy guy in the same spot with the same opportunities and results, I'd say the same thing. (cough AJ Foyt IV cough). I believe that there are probably many folks out there of both sexes that have as much or more talent than her that could be where she is (mediocre at the IRL level) if blessed with the same opportunities. That's my opinion.

If you and others are of the opinion she is one of the top 10 (in God given natural talent alone) drivers available to the top racing teams in the IRL and one of the top 50 or so in Nascar, that's okay with me. I respectfully disagree.

Misogyny much?

I'd be curious to see what percentage of the Danica detractors/haters have daughters.

Well the other 99.999% of drivers got there too, presumably not by using their looks.

No, most got there by loads of talent and some good fortune.
