Default Penske Shock Rebuild Questions

Hi,

I have just bought a set of used Penske shocks.

According to the literature, the main valving is user serviceable and can be reached easily.

I am looking for some information on rebuilding and re-charging the shocks.

Anyone have any or know where to point me.

Thanks

Ed

While the manual give enough information to allow for disassembly and reassembly, IMO there is a difference between "able do it" and "wise to do it".

Have a shock dyno handy to check your work ? Even if I'm getting a simple rebuild, I want dyno graphs after completion. Re-valve ? Even more important.

Have Penske's on two of the race fleet (the Red Sled and Le Plastique Pig), and while Der Professor is mechanically handy (build the race engine that is still competitive and has over 150 race hours for the Mazda Spud), I leave shock stuff to Mr. Stimola, the Penske shock god.

I actually had a conversation with Joe this morning and will be forwarding the shocks directly to him with my car information. Expecting that I will probably get a revalve since I will be running more spring than the last guy.

Thanks

Do yourself a huge favor. Just send the shocks to Joe Stimola.

sorry about that. I didn't read all of the thread before I posted. Wise choice.
