David,

I just put this unit in at a clients house, Aaron is very easy to deal with and will get you set up mild-wild. He is primarily Iracing, but can get you going with what ever platform you like. You can even customize the stlye, we did ours as a 935 Martini liverly

I raced at Barber last year for the first time. I had to opportunity to learn the track. The second session was qualifying.

I bought a copy of rFactor for $50, used an old crappy MS wheel, and in 8 hours learned the track pretty well.

In my very first session on the track I was only 4 seconds off my typical race lap time. By the end of the weekend I had collected 3 class wins.

Simulators work!

Is there any interest in setting up a rennlist iracing league?
Yes, absolutely! I am happy to host a few sessions. What car and track combo are you most interested in? I have been driving the Corvette C6.R lately. Let's pick a night that seems good for a few people and get started.

I think that would be a lot of fun! To start things up, it would probably be good to do a track and car that most people have. Lime rock puts me to sleep, so either Laguna, Lowes, or Summit get my vote. The SRF is a pretty good car for rookies and veterans and there are some tuning options to involve that aspect as well.

Keeping it to introductory cars and tracks might help get people started and then we can do some faster cars and different tracks later so there isn't a huge outlay of cash for rennlisters just wanting to try it out.

Oh, Thursdays are usually a good day

GTR2 or GTR Evo....very reasonable software, outstanding graphics....$40- $50. Get a good wheel/pedals and make sure your PC is up to speed....proper graphics, audo, RAM, etc.

I practiced on GTR Evo for my trip to the Nurburgring and it was outstanding. When I got to Germany, on the track, I knew exactly where I was....all the time....

You can find this software on Amazon.com It is outstanding!

OK, so I got around to planning a hosted race. This Thursday evening at 8:30pm the Rennsport Racing League will be racing the C6.R at Watkins Glen. Email me at kevin.bobbitt@iracing.com if you are interested.

I may have to buy that car but I think I can make it. When does practice open up and how do you find it?

I think the 1:42 - 1:44 are where the really fast iRacing guys are. In this league I would guess 1:46 - 1:48's. Just a guess though.

Never really driven the Vette or Watkins so I'll be hiding in back making my way to the front on the dashed dreams of others.
