This is one of the very few cases where using firearms to work on a car actually could have been smarter (and less destructive)... As ridiculous as it is, a precision strike on the lug nut with a 5.56mm round would have made more sense than sawzalling the wheel apart.
Personally, I would have just busted out the welder... If it's steel, weld on something that you can grip and turn. If it's aluminum, crank up the power and blast it to hell. Simple enough, quick, and you don't need to destroy the wheel.
