I'll try to dig up some videos...

Thanks for your input, everyone!

I suppose you could also make the argument that I would be flying from another country, anyway -- what's another couple of hours?

I just noticed an older thread which states that TWS has lapping days on Friday afternoons. Is this open to everyone, or do you need some kind of secret handshake?

It is open, and from what I saw.. Car isn't done (re-done?) yet. It was very cool. TONS of drive time.

Just to be clear, it is open to those who are solo at the track. Generally that means solo with PDS, PCA or TDE. I don't know how they would handle credentials of someone who is solo with another organization at another track.

Here are a couple of fun dialed-back laps at TWS from yesterday morning, with a passenger. Certainly not at the pace of Chris Cervelli's nuclear powered RSR, but still a decent view of the track. For some reason I could not get this to load in You Tube, so Vimeo it is, complete with Vimeo's trademarked audio/video disconnect.

I see what made you cough so much on page 1 of this thread: this looks like a lot of fun!

Obviously, everyone will jump at the chance to tell me that everything is bigger in Texas, but this seems like a pretty big track. How long is it? Roughly how long does a Spec Miata take to do a lap?

2.9 miles in the configuration you see in the videos. This is the usual configuration. Spec Miata will take anywhere between 1:59 (me) and 5:00 (Greg Smith) to do a lap, depending on who is at the helm!

I think that mid-pack spec miata times are around 2:05-ish.
