What did you decide for the exterior?

Keep your fingers crossed for no carpeting!
I went with the Eastwood one you reccomended! It went on sooooooooooooooooo easily with no runs or orange peal etc. Supprised me how simple it was although, as usual I was in a hurry to spray and should have spent a little more time on prep!

I hope the carpet rule goes or I just wasted 30 hours of my life!

I have decided on the exterior but will hold off saying until I have the pictures to show!

The carpet rule is one of the silliest in the book. You need to have all sorts of fire preventive items in the car and on your body but they mandate an interor full of "Slow Burn" carpet. The carpet removal in my car won't take long to remove since it was installed striclty to meet the PCA rule. The team that set it up for the Firehawk series went thru all the glue removal. Should be a breeze... famous last words.

Worked tirelessly over the last 2 days but dont seem to have done much. At least I booked the car in for its new cage in December. Early zmas present to myself

I am going to fill in the old light holes with mesh to protect the oil coolers

I thought it was time for an update (if anyone is interested). Does not look like I have done much but somehow I have been working pretty hard......

sanded down most of the car including preparing the doors, bumper, header etc for paint. I laid some paint today for the first time and it came out pretty well. Actual car is now up in Boston getting a new cage welded in to cup car spec (similar to 997 cup spec). I have bought most of the bits I also need to complete the build. Here are a few more pics

Will finish preparing the fiberglass hood tomorrow and then spray that and then remove the roof skin off my donor roof................. how I love long weekends!

Looking good.......

Your wife must be a saint to let you do all that in the garage and..... the pool table......

If you want me to go check the progress of your cage here in Boston just give me a shout......

nice work! did you already paint the interior? just curious why you didn't wait until after the cage was in? or is it getting the same color treatment as the exterior?

because I am an idiot I decided to do the cage for deffinate after I had painted the interior, so I guess I have to repaint the inside again.

Dan,
Very nice work on the paint! The panels and nose/tail look terrific, which says you did a lot of careful prep. Very nice!

BTW, did you shoot the interior or brush/roll it?

Do yourself a favor and get single stage urethane for that!

Nice work Dan. Looks great. Although, I can't say I'm too happy about you running with all that weight gone... means I'll just have to work all that much harder to catch you next season. I should have a surprise or two for you by LRP, but nothing that will make up for you losing 220 lbs
