ALMS - FORZA MOTORSPORT 3
No affiliation, not even a 'gamer' . . . yet! From the ALMS and Microsoft Game Studios. . . and just in time for the holidays. Link at the bottom.
SERIES A CENTERPIECE OF CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED FORZA MOTORSPORT 3
Many, many Series/IMSA-era cars available from which to choose
The American Le Mans Series announced its partnership with Microsoft Game Studios in the release this week of the highly acclaimed Forza Motorsport 3, the culmination of more than a year’s worth of technical and commercial development with Microsoft’s Turn 10 Studios. Exclusive to the Xbox 360 platform, the racing simulation is chock full of American Le Mans Series content that will introduce the Series to a new fanbase. The game extends the experience of its franchise predecessors by taking the genre to new heights in terms of realism, physics, online competition, and user-generated content.

they had quite a few ALMS cars in forza2 and the physics were pretty good in that. I haven't played forza3 as much as I have wanted to due to tons of work, but every aspect of the game is just a little bit better, making it much better overall.

I assume most folks use a wheel and pedals? I've played my kids' sim games with Wii controllers and it's kind of a joke. But I've been playing GTR2 (PC) for years with a wheel and pedals, and it's a worthwhile learning experience.

I actually prefer to play forza3 with the regular controller. Helps keep me detached from reality...
Finally got a few hours to myself today and played some more. One of the many new track additions to this game is the 24 hour LeMans circuit. The detail is unreal.

Forza 3 is unreal. Folks complain about some of the new features such as "race rewind" and other crap, but you can chose to not use it!!!
Le Mans track is amazing! Catalunya is also one of the new tracks! I was hoping Turn 10 would put Spa in there.

I looked at the tracks and it appeared to me that only Raod America and Road Atlanta are in the game.
Are there more tracks where we have Club Races?
I'm thinking that I'm missing part of the list...

That's one of the things that I love about GTR2 for the PC. You can download free tracks that have been created or converted from other sources. I've got Watkins Glen, Limerock, VIR, Daytona, Miller, Road America, Mid-Ohio and most of the California tracks. Detail is OK. Certainly not Forza3 quality. But I'll take realistic track dynamics over visual detail any day.
