Featherlight open trailer FS

Heaviest aluminum trailer on the market. MSRP is currently around 7K and they end up selling to end users for about $6500. At least that is what my dealer told me last spring. Tongue boxs go for around $350? Listing does not say if there is a spare tire, and it is crazy not to have a spare. Ask me how I know.

Why is it those open trailers seem to blow tires so often? Smaller diameter run hotter? Just curious as it seems all my friends have blown at least one tire this year alone, some two. I did notice one trailer seemed to wear the tires strangely, but would think that's an axle alignment issue or something..

I have an open 2007 18" ATC (Motiv) aluminum trailer that I would be willing to sell for $4,500 if anyone was interested. I was going to post photos and an ad this coming weekend.

1. They are often cheaply made.
2. They dry rot and go bad long before the tread shows any wear.
3. Some people drive them at speeds over the tire rating
4. People tend not to check the pressure as often as they should.
5. They tend to be smaller and I think build more heat in a smaller carcase.

I have the same Featherlite trailer and periodically think about selling mine as I also have a 28ft Pace enclosed. But every time I hook it up and take my car to the shop or a nearby track I fall in love with this trailer all over again and put it back behind the garage. They truly are great hauling trailers.
Oh and for tires I changed last year from the 205/75/15- 'C' load tires (1820lbs. max) that came on the trailer to 225/75/15- 'D' loads (2540 lbs. max) Goodyear Marathons. The difference is 40% more load capacity for $9. more per tire....
