That quote of mine was after the 5th race of the year based on what I wrote. At the time, Button was faster than Rubens. Now its the other way around, but Button still has a healthy lead over Rubens.
I stand by what I said earlier in the year. I'm not a fan of button, but to see your face if he wins the WDC would be priceless.
And speaking of Hamilton, I thought he was over the unforced errors. I guess I was wrong. Forgive me for asking, but with 1/2 a lap left and no chance to catch Button, exactly whom was he "racing"? He just needed to bring the car home, a handful of corners and he's on podium, and cuts into the Ferrari points as both Ferrari and McLaren have made no bones about it that they want 3rd place in the WCC.
I agree with 9.5. That was a fail.
On the other hand, I think Hamilton will learn from this and be a better, more complete racer in the future because he's know when to push it and when to take his points.

Looks like you've found a new friend, Pete! It was actually 1.5 laps left, and he was closing on JB, so there was a chance for him to catch him and a possibility to get second. They call that racing.
Glad to see the Brawns back up front, seems they've got both campionships locked down.

If your in a game of chess or poker, you don't go "All In" every hand. You have to pick your spots and be smart. It worked for Alonso in his 2 WDC when he milked a lead and would settle for points off podium. It's not the most exciting way to do it, but F1 is not a sport to these guys, it's business. If Alonso would have gone for it every single race in 2005 and 2006, he would have lost both championships and we wouldn't be talking about him today (I can dream can't I?)
As I stated, Hamilton F'ed up, but he'll learn from this. The maturation continues.

I guess Jack Brabham must have still been in his maturation phase when he binned it while heading for victory on the last lap in Monaco, 1970!
If Lewis had tried some hopeless, low-percentage move and crashed - then I guess it could be a question of maturity. But when a racer is really squeezing everything out of a car, it will happen from time-to-time... just a driving error. Sure, IF he was in a championship fight than settling for a placing makes a lot of sense. And yes, those constructor points are nice. But I am glad that there are drivers that race to the bitter end.

Did Hamilton shear a driveshaft/suspension when he dropped the left rear and floored it?
Looked like there was a wheel a ways back and on the outside of the corner.
