Default Palmer Motorsports Park in MA - Any news?

Hi All,
Does anyone here know about the proposed track in Palmer, MA? Their website hasn't changed info in a long time: http://www.palmermotorsportspark.com/
It would sure be nice to have another track closer to home.

They're taunting me.
An hour from my home...my wife would probably never see me and my son again...
I haven't heard anything in a while, my son used to race with a kid whose Dad was involved with the SCCA side of it.
At one point they were planning on installing a dedicated kart track, but that has been shelved.
Last I heard, they were just awaiting for state approval for environmental....

Hey, at least they have announced where the actual site will be, It's a lot more than some other US F1 venues have done so far

Bernie isn't concerned about the circuit's location, just the bank account's!

Last I heard was that the SCCA is still paying the landowner and permitting is progressing. No way races will happen this year and I don't know what they are aiming for as a new opening date.

Matt's got it right, it's still in permitting. The town wants the track, eventually it'll get done.
The SCCA has the $$ and will build it ASAP

The Palmer track is to be sited on West Ware Rd in Palmer Mass. Google Earth shows nothing there that resembles even a good sized access road into the woods. The road isn't that long, the site is partly in Ware and Palmer both so you don't have tp be too sharp to get a 2010 ariel scan.
Me thinks the track is a ways off. I would love to see it done and I bet it would have a nice bit of interest. NHMS is nothing to write home about and then you have Lime Rock which can get old. Monticello is closing to clubs in 2011, with the possibility of a partial track rental but most only like the full course.
Palmer Motorsports could do well in New England. Bring it on.

Here's the latest I know as printed in Pit Talk, the NER SCCA newsletter - The main investor, Pappas Enterprises has backed out of the deal. NER SCCA is deciding this month to continue or not with this project. I believe they need to find an alternative way of financining the track. If anyone knows of anyone with some extra cash hanging around, talk to the folks at www.ner.org.
