Default Watkins Glen Track Walk Photos

At an NNJR PCA event several weeks ago we had a Saturday track walk. It is just amazing how much banking is around that track. You probably cannot fully appreciate it til you get out of the car. I was most impressed with how much banking is at turn 1! In any event, hope you enjoy these photos and they give you some more confidence in these turns.

Here are some photos of turn 1

Turn 2 also was impressive! I am not sure the pictures for turn 2 show the banking like they do for turn 1.

Here is turn 6. The most banking here was definitely along the inside line, just like turn 5. The further away from the apex, the flatter it gets!

Here is turn 9. When you go through turn 9 and you are on the Nascar straight, you are totally flat, no baking! You can see the "line" in the lower left of this picture.

We did not stop at the toe, so I have no photos of the toe.

Enjoy,

Michael

Those are great pics. I just did a 3-day DE with PCA this past weekend at WGI and had a blast. It was my second time there. What a fantastic track.
Your pics really show those significant elevation changes. Coming out of the "toe" in that uphill my 200 HP tells me that it is pretty steep!

Did you see BlaineS in his new 2010 guards red GT3?

Posting these was a great idea; I remember realizing on my first track walk how much banking was available to help me, and how much faster my next run was.
Thanks for making the effort.
