No, not with 911. (But Denny Kahler did do it 20 or so years ago with a chopped roof 2.0 car, and later had a pretty bad wreck as he pushed for higher speeds with different powerplants.) Still, a nice little story and video about guys who did something it seems just because.

Used to go there every fall with a friend who held the record for many years in the 60's and 70's with a Carrera Speedster and then in obscure classes with various Beetles... he still does it with various one-offs he designs himself- had a 3 cylinder 911 engine he drove for a while for a 1 liter class (half a engine!). I actually drove that car on the street once- he had the engine in a 914! A little rough wih not much torque but it ran!! He's a life long Porsche mechanic here in Iowa- has a very good reputation- helped me build some pretty good engines over the years!!
