So what does one of the new cars cost? Compared to a DP in Grand-Am?

Well what would be really cool is this (but it would NEVER HAPPEN)

P1 = LMP1 & LMP 2
DP = Daytona Prototype as is
GT2 = Current ALMS GT2 cars
GT3 = Grand Am GT as is.

There you go 4 classes in order of speed. It is kind of what ALMS is going for, but not quite, but does set the stage.

That would be perfect except there would need to be a rules tweak to make sure the GT2 cars run just a tick faster than the DP's

I would like this too, but my tweak is to have the DP cars only on an interim basis while the LMPC class ramps up and eventually replaces the DPs. Equalizing formula during the transition of course.

Still way too much for me but guys like Tracy Krohn can find that in their sofa cushions.

I wonder if any privateer GT2 and DP teams will make the switch to LMPC?

Will be interesting to see the adjustments made to balance the different GT3 cup cars they are going to allow in the challenge class.

Kind of a bummer that 2 of the 4 classes will be essentially spec classes...

A trough in a series of waves. The ocean will crest again (it damn well better).
