Fisichella obviously also has 2009 F1 experience as does Gene although his last drive at the track was in December 2008 but if was this year's car so had they dared to put Bourdais in there, they would've had two current F1 drivers and one with fairly recent experience in F1 and very recent in similar race car (Gene won in Le Mans P1).

Ferrari slams Williams
04 August 2009
The Ferrari Formula 1 team has responded to the Williams team, the team who did not wish to give the Italian team permission to run Michael Schumacher in the F60 to prepare himself for his Formula One comeback later this month. The team is not amused with Williams' 'lack of spirit of fair play'.
In a statement the Ferrari F1 team said at its website on Tuesday:
Guess who opposed the test with the F60? A team that hasn't won anything for years and yet didn't pass over the opportunity to demonstrate once more a lack of spirit of fair play. Just for the record, the Scuderia Ferrari had given its approval to let Alguersuari test, but it seems even in this instance someone decided to stick to the precise wording of the regulations.
Finn,
Why do you keep saying Fisi in a Ferrari? He is a Force India driver. How arrogant to assume that just because one of Ferrari's driver's got hurt, they would turn around and just pick a driver from another team to drive their car. Can you imagine the bashing Ferrari would receive from the likes of Dez and other haters if that were to happen?

Ferrari can't just turn around and pick a driver from another team but when that another team was Force India who still owes money to them and because Force India want to give a drive to Liuzzi. The fact that Fisichella is Italian and would've done anything to drive for Ferrari would've not hurt either.
When Ferrari realized Schumi was a possibility, obviously nobody else was considered anymore but up until that point, Fisichella was the choice.

Ferrari & Schumi combination would ask a team mate to move over? Nooo....
I'd guess if that was said over Kimi's radio, his response would be something like this: "painu Domenicali vittuun! Tää on mun kisa ja se vitun Schumi saa katella mun persettä kaikessa rauhassa...
