The verdict is still out on McLaren. When they do well on a high speed track that requires very good aero, then they will be contenders. But they've still only been quick at the mechanical grip tracks, plus Lewis excels at driver oriented tracks.

They were quick in Germany too, but there are no high speed sweepers and such there either. Europe and Belgium should be good to the McLarens, but the real test will be Monza.

Dez, your sugarcoating it. The McLaren has absolutely come to life after the new nose was installed. The old one was causing "aero stall" as the flow under the car was not going out to the rear diffuser very well. Now, the car is unbelievably fast. If the Mac performs well as Spa, then it will perform well at Monza and the rest of the year.

My predictions for Schumacher:

Valencia: Picks up some points 6th to 8th place

Spa: Podium -- He owns that track

Monza: 4th - 5th -- The Red Bull aero and McLaren's will be too strong there

If Schumi has the opportunity to race until the end of the year, there is a good chance he will be on the top step somewhere.

If by some miracle he wins at Monza, forget about it!!! The tifosi will go absolutely nuts!!!!

If it rains, yes. If it doesn't, he'll be competititve, but I don't know if he'll win. I voted yes out of pure fanboiism.

Oh please, I won't let the facts blur your vision again, but the McLarens have done their best on tracks that emphasize mechanical over aero grip all year. Only to end up completely sucking on the high speed tracks. I'd love for them to be back in the front, messing up someones title hopes, but until they prove it on an aero course, then there is no certainty. I'll give you Spa as a good test though before Monza. But the McLarens only needed a little help to be fast at Hungary. They need A LOT of help at Spa and Monza.

I believe Massa will be back in form by the next race and Schumacher will not drive at all. That said, I would like to see him race.

There is no way his head could be healed in two weeks, this is adult bone we are talking about here. He's at least 4-6 weeks (guess) from being able to take an impact to that spot on his head without worse damage. They have to (and will because of MS) assume that he could get hit in the same area of the head again.

Schumi already tested with 2007 car, that's plenty for "safety reasons".

As you said, if Jaime was able to do it (and he surely was), Schumi certainly can, especially now that he's tested with old car.
