Default pole position seat cover removal?

I ripped the seat cover on my pole position seat with the little wings that stick out of my R3. The seat lacks padding in that spot, and the cover has no support against my weight pushing a hole into it.

Anyone tell me the broad strokes on how to remove the cloth cover for a repair? I don't see any obvious and easy fasteners like the snaps on the SSM's kirkey seat cover.

I had a similar situation with my Pole Position seats. I couldn't find points to detach either. I gave up and had them recovered (about $600 for 2). They look new.

I've installed and reinstalled my PP's several times and seem to remember that the cover is held by a metal string that goes around the sides of the seat. Most of the sting is hidden, but I believe there is an opening in the front of the seat (crotch area under the seat in front of the 5th harness hole) that gives you access to the string. Hope this helps.

There is a small cable attached with a spring under the front of the seat. You will need to remove all four belt loops (2 hex bolts each). From this point on, there's velcro and glue holding the cover on. The cover is glued on around the belt loops. Its easy to figure out how to get it off. Its a pain to remove all the adhesive though. Lacquer thinner kind of works but it is very messy. I used hot glue to reattach the cover. Make sure the fabric will fit under the belt loop covers.

Have fun...

Appreciate the help. Sounds like a nuisance but hardly difficult.

I just had my driver's SPG recovered. I bought the replacement from FVD and found a local "custom" shop to do the swap for $65. PP cover lists for $243 + shipping, etc.

I need new covers (cloth/leather/vinyl,anything) but can't find anyone who carries or sells JUST the seat cover fabics and cushions at a reasonable price.

I sprung for the cover from FVD as per Joey's link. (Thanks Joey!) Hopefully I get it soon...

You're welcome. It's not cheap but it's like getting a brand new Recaro for quite a bit less.
