Default BMW Oktoberfest Club Racing School question

Now that I am National DE Champion Runner-up I'm looking to transition (hopefully Spec 996 in '10).

In the upcoming 5 day event there is a 2 club race school- anyone familiar with this and if so is it worth attending?

TIA

Well worth it if you can get in. James Clay and I ran the club race school when O'fest was in Texas a couple of years ago. He and Seth are running this one at Road Atlanta. You cannot do better than that.

Agree and Seth is very good , Known to be at least 3 seconds a lap faster than the typical Urban legend Coach Meister ........

Stupid question. Can you participate in the race school with Marques other than BMW?

yes and you don't have to be in a race prepped car...you can run the comp school in a street car

Not a stupid question at all. As Dave White said, yes you can. However, you might want to join the BMW club (you do not need to own a BMW, IIRC), because I believe club members will get priority in registering for all O'fest events including the race school.

David,

If you can't get in for the RA event, you might want to consider the Heart of Dixie event at Barber next month. We are having a competition school as well and I don't think it has filled up.

I don't know who is teaching the school, but I will be on the track to torment the candidates.

All the BMW events I have looked into have to tier pricing; member and non-member. Non-member has the added charge of a 1 yr membership. Either way, you will be a member once you pay the fee.
Our region, Peachtree, does not require BMW onwnership to join. My membership just lapsed.

Lemmings? Are you talking about the event at Little Talladaga GP? Does that track, after remodel, still run anti-clockwise? Is a Off at T1 still a space shuttle launch?

No, I'm taking about the DE and comp school at Barber Motorsports on August 22 adn 23. http://www.heartofdixiede.info/

Tigpri, yes it still runs anti-clockwise. T1 is not as sharp as it used to be with the remodel. I remember a boxster ending up in the creek a while back, but man that must have taken some effort as there is quite a bit of run off there.
