I'm surprised that there are no posts on this subject. With 6 laps to go, Justin Wilson, driving for Dale Coyne Racing (hasn't won a race in 25 years as an entrant), just drove away From Briscoe @ Penske and Dixon @ Ganassi. Wilson did seem to have the right tires on, RED, but drove perfectly to the finish. He was opening up a 1 second per lap lead over his pursurers until he started to "stroke it" to the finish.

That was wild to watch. Just walked away from them.
The commentators said that TV doesn't do that track justice. I drove it for the first time last weekend. I concur with that assessment.
I think it's funny that they changed some of the advertising since I was there last weekend. They covered up a lot of that Sprint stuff. I could never figure out why that sign faced the way it does when you're driving down into the boot. Looks perfect on TV.

I got there literally as the green dropped. Sat in the stands in the esses. good view of that whole area. Wasn't sure what to expect, it was my first IRL race. I can say it was very exciting to see the pack come up through there wide open. Sweet sounding and very quick.
1:40 or so for lap times.
I walked to the bus stop where you could really see them on the edge through there.
Races are better on tv but it was an excuse to ride my motorcycle out there and I'm glad I did, that sound.....
By the way, they have a nice paddock for bikes, it's open but reasonably secure as the Police unit sets up there too.

I watched the IRL races at Lowes Motor Speedway many years ago. They were incredibly loud. How was the sound at WG?
It was a good race on TV. Coyne's first win as a driver and owner. Good for him!
