I'll be there both days. . . from HPN!
Well, OK, via ANC! That is, if I ever leave!
Also - I have been contacted by some -- there is interst in an informal paddock tour, laced with hot pit info.
I'd be happy to do a walk around both days. The ALMS -- It's not just 'spec car racing' . .
Remember closed toe shoes if you want to get ON THE GRID for the pre-race fan activities.
The ALMS -- 'It's about the fans.'
Soon!

Flying in to Hartford on Thurs from Odessa, FL, and will be doing some driving around the state that day.
I'll be at the track from o'dark thirty on Fri until well past the checkered on Sat.
As long as I've met a photo deadline on Fri, where is everybody having dinner?
I would assume that Porsche has one of the dedicated track parade laps on Fri or Sat (these laps are NOT facilitated by IMSA as in years past). Does anyone know which day?

Guys,
David Murry will be there, piloting the Robertson Racing Ford GT-R. Stop by to say hello.
It'll be fun to meet fellow Rennlisters and we can answer any questions you might have about our October event at VIR.

Kim:
I just read the LRP reponse in the other thread. The Saturday Pararde Lap is scheduled to go at 12:10. For those that wanted photo support, it's about the worst time you could ask for as far as decent shots of you and your car. It also interferes with the autograph session for those that may have wanted a poster or some other memo signed by the drivers...
That being said, I will most likely set myself up to grab shots of those participating in the parade laps close to the entry of the esses. It's about the only sun neutral corner for that time of day.
IF you are in the parade lap and want a shot of your car, PLEASE follow the exact line of the guy in front of you, and PLEASE don't bunch yourselves up. Unlike the race, I'll only get 1 or 2 chances to get the shot you want.
The ALMS warmup on Sat is 9:50-10:10. If a large group of P-cars is planning on entering the track waaaay before then, say 7-8:30. Then I can arrange to set myself up on the route as you enter the track property, or some other notable landmark within say 3-4 miles of the track. Pre-planning this is crucial if it's the way you guys want to go. I would also need guidance as to a good place to shoot from, as I'm not overly familiar with the area and any good backgrounds or landmarks there may be.
Awaiting feedback...

I did the same thing at Sebring. Been going to the 12 hours for the past 2 years flying in from Mass. I camp in turn 10 with a group and Friday night met a couple who were driving in the historic race and asked me about my NHIS DE shirt and they mentioned I should do the parade lap. That would have been tough since my car was back home. I was able to hitch a ride with a Florida local guy named Miles who is also a Rennlister. I should be at the race Saturday, maybe Friday night pitching a tent at the track, but that is doubtful. I'l be wearing a black t shirt from this years ALMS Sebring race from a group there called Drinking for Holland ( DFH) from some Dutchies who fly into the Sebring race every year and camp in turn 10.
