OT: resale vaue of 1973 MB 450SL
Sorry for the off topic.
My 89 year old Dad is going to sell his SL; he still drives it, but since my Mom isn't driving any longer, they only need 1 car.
I am looking for input into its possible value (will be trying the MB club as well).
Car is very well cared for (by the book+), but far from perfect. 1973 model, so its before the big bumpers. Medium blue, has both tops (convertible fabric is basically new). Paint finish is quite good (repainted 10? years ago).
Its a daily driver with 150k miles, some rust (will need to define that better to hope for a decent value estimate, but the rust isn't too bad; not visible, and is on the leading inner rear fenders from a leak where the top meets the rear fender tops. Very repairable), slight head gasket leak (oil), and everything works except the clock.
Car was heavily damaged 25 + years ago; repaired to new standards then, and has only had maintenance repairs since.
Definitely not a collector car, but a good car for someone that wants a pre-bumper car SL to drive.
Car is in New England.
Thanks for any insight into possible asking/selling prices.
