Changes to the CDOC contingency program
Just got the letter in the mail, I'm sure you guys in the program did as well. It went from being a really cool, very useful and very generous program to a not so great program. The big changes are:
1) All rewards must be redeemed towards purchases within 45 days from the race
2) Reward credits must not exceed 50% of the final invoice amount
Problem is for me that I can't use them for consumables because they don't sell tires, their pad selection doesn't include PFC and they don't carry the right rotors. I've always used them for bigger items and used the credits against them. But, I don't need those bigger items after every race, just once in a while.
Going to send them a note with my reaction, curious how everybody else feels about it.

Other changes include $10 registration fee paid annually, not just 1 time and a minimum of 6 entrants instead of 5. Not as good as before but I am thankful they continue to support us in this economy and I will continue to support them.
You can always use the credits for motor oil, they carry Redline. You can never have too much of that on hand.

Well I can't say I am shocked. The old deal was pretty good. However since I am low budget guy who has been racing for a while I never needed alot of stuff I did always find it hard to get something after each race. When I did I tried to make it about 80-90 of my contingency since most of it was not a "must have item". Ah well. Still better than zero contingecy, but not as lucrative as it was before. In the end we must remember companies do this to sell MORE stuff not allow all thier existing customers to get free stuff instead of buying. Well next years big expense for me will be a fresh harness as my FIA one is the last year of it cert.
Of course with 10-15 cars in my class each race the six car min is not too bad for me.

Did your packet have the stickers enclosed? The letter references the stickers as though they are enclosed but there we no stickers in my envelope....

We were spoiled with an over generous program before. Instead of complaining about CDOC's program, how about complaining about all the companies that don't offer ANY contingency program?
