Default Ever get the feeling that you're being watched?

You should. Each day it just gets easier and easier for the average joe to search and find compiled data on the activity of other people. Take this site for example:

BoardReader

Must be relatively new because the stats go back only as far as February.

Without ever signing in to Rennlist, it knows that the top ten posters in this sub-forum over the past week are as follows. Spooky.

(oh, and congrats to the "winners").

LMAO! See you next week, Geoffrey.

Russell, that's nothing. Google "Echelon" sometime.

Greg, as usual, pipes in and adds nothing....just like a fart in the wind.

Why do you think I don't use my real name as my user name?

Nuts, exposed by all the Off Topic crap like wings and brake fluid I was blathering about. Thankfully now off the list, more bench racing is needed I guess.

Intresting link BTW.

The more things change, the more they stay the same! My mother raised me to watch what I say and do all the time, because you never know who's paying attention.

Many who post on the web act like a$$es because they think they are anonymous. How many people would really act like that in person? Maybe more visibility like this will restore some civility to our conversations.

I have a related question. Why do people blank out their license plate numbers on-line? I drive around all day with them and thousands of people see it. Why should I worry about it on the web?

I for one would say to anyone's face whatever I post or write online--good or bad--and have done so many times.

The reason some folks cover plates at DE's is because some insurance companies actively look at track day photo albums online for their customers...in order to deny them coverage or non-renew them for tracking their cars.
