Default Watkins Glen Hotels?

I got one or two names of places today at the NHMS DE but I have of course forgotten them!

I am heading to the Zone 1 WG event next month and am looking for some nice hotels in the area. A spa would be a bonus for my wife! And yeah I know I should have done this when I signed up for the event!

TIA

A very nice place with an excellent restaurant and even room service is the Glenora Inn, about 8 miles north of town. In town there is the new Harbor Hotel.

Yeah, lakeside view only $500 a night. The bar was empty and the waitresses were fugly. Otherwise it's a fine establishment.

We're staying in the new Harbor Hotel. Looked good when it was under construction the last time we were there. We aren't paying $500 a night. Far from it.

See you there.

As of two minutes a go, at www.watkinsglenharborhotel.com a "lake view" room is $245/night. Village view room is $225/night. Not inexpensive, but also not "$500". Several friends have stayed there when taking spouses/family to WG, and all spoke highly of the experience, including the restaurant and outside dining.

When I attend a WG event without my wife, I stay at the Falls Motel, which is clean and cheap.

Try the Seneca Lodge.

City slickers don't like it too much, but there's very good food, a place for kids to play and it's very near the track. The ambiente is without peer for miles around.

If you really are a city slicker, stay at the Belhurst Castle in Geneva, on the north end of the lake.....if you take the thruway from the east, ( quickest if you are coming from Boston area) you come through Geneva on rte 14.
