Default Wheel weight tape?

What kind of tape is best for holding on wheel weights? I just got a new set of wheels and Rs which had aluminum tape over the weights, but all the tape is coming off. One of the weight strips had fallen off as well, but I was able to see where it was an push it back on. Seems to be holding now. Found this while un-boxing the wheels and haven't run them yet. So, I'm going pull the tape that came on there and replace it, but should I use aluminum tape or would gaffers tape be better?

I use a tape designed for HVAC ducts. It is silver and able to withstand reasonably high temp. Available at Home Depot.

I had a summer where I must have rebalanced 12 times due to this issue. No tape/weight combo worked. I tried them all, posted here about it many times. Turns out it was in large part the wheel, a Volk.
Bottom line was I ended up with different wheels, specially ordered weights that my balnacing shop has a box of for me and and Polyken 557, an advanced duct tape. It is very different from the foil types usually mentioned here.
This is the tape: http://www.covalenceadhesives.com/Se...ls.aspx?ID=126

This is where I got it: http://www.racerstape.com/rtp.html

I've used heavy duct tape for years with good success.

I've used 200-mph tape for years and never had a problem. Just make sure you clean the wheel really well with alcohol or some such to degrease it and get the dirt and dust off it before installing the weights and the tape.

Okay, looks like I just need to pull the original tape, wipe it down with some brake cleaner and put new aluminum tape on. Heck of a lot of weights on one wheel.
