TK Give us an update!

Tell us how your shake down at Sebring when this weekend. What did you learn that the rest of us should know?
Could you feel any difference in the stiffness of the car with the cage?
Times on the clean laps, no BS'ing?
????
Hope everything went to plan.

Last I heard he had one clean session and then during the next session (I think) he had electrical gremlins. He said the car ran great in the first session. I am sure we will hear from him soon.

Is that what it was? I thought he had an arc welder installed up front. :-)
I'm surprised the batter didn't melt/explode!
I'm sure the Vortex crew will get it fixed. Tom's got just under 2 weeks till his race debut in that car. I'll be in his pit for that event!

well did get some laps in with the "new" car. see thread above on interior going full race.
anyway. the car currently weighs a flat 3000 pounds. when the cup doors go on it will be 2880
car was very stiff. drove much crisper. very nimble and agile compared to before.
accelerated out of corners MUCH faster. car felt faster.
didnt get much decent track time before the wiring to the kill switch grounded out the car and it would not start for the rest of the day (fixed now)
lap times from the only 30 or so miles I turned were done at what I felt was 7-8 tenths and was turning low 2:20's
really hoping to run in the teens shortly
see ya all at the Sebring PBOC race in two weeks...............
thanks to all at the track that helped with the car, Bob, Terry, Jeff, Larry, LD, Doug, SARA
car is fixed and getting ready for the race.
oh yeah other thing I learned was definately need a cool suit!!
also found out no one I know knows how to put the windshield peel offs on so had to pull them off.

Luckily your car didn't almost catch your leg on fire from the problem like mine did... haha.
Glad it was an easy repair, we might join you at PBOC if we get renters for the cars again.
