I'll be there. Any suggestions on where to stay? Is there a Test and Tune before the event?

Peter,
You won't find the typical 'chain hotels" unless you drive to Corning, which is a solid 20-30 minutes. Locally, Falls Motel (full- Tremper) is decent. New place just opened in Watkins... name espcapes me, right on Lake Seneca. The Glenora is a nice place, about 10 min further up the Lake and is also a small winery with great dinner spot. Locals love the "Seneca Lodge", but too rustic for me.

WE can take up to 280 drivers....so a wait list should not be necessary..But the count for the vest give away will be set soon..after that ...a reorder and a delay. If on the fence, register now..

Pete, you'll be happy to know that it seemed like over half of the racers at the Lime Rock race were wearing their Watkins Glen fleece jacket that was given away at last year's race.

The new place is the Harbor Hotel Watkins Glen 607.535.6116. Looks like a nice place and the Harbor Station restaurant next store is a good place for a meal and view of the lake. The Seneca Lodge will give you the other end of the luxury spectrum. But the history in the bar makes it a great place to hang out for a few hours.

No racing for me this year yet. But I'll be driving out from Columbus to grid cars for the weekend and get a little closer to the dream.

Similarly I'm wondering how many of their wives were wearing CVR's fleece vests from last year...
