GoPro Hero
Picked up one of the GoPro Hero motorsports cameras... It seems pretty cool. The case looks durable and the mount looks pretty sturdy, too.
I'll try it out on Monday and post my thoughts!

Race Car
I have a few buddies that run those, some outside of the car as well...they seem to like them and if you look up 911148 on Youtube, that's Josh...he uses a Hero camera...I keep telling him to move it back further in the car but his view does show you A LOT of what's going on up in front vice my video camera which is just behind and between the two seats...I use a Chasecam lipstick camera and a PDR100 to record.

If shooting from inside the car, make sure it isn't aimed too much at the interior of the car... the GoPro's auto-exposure has a tendency to do a great job of showing your interior, but then everything out the windows is over-exposed and white.

Thanks for the tip Weston. The only negative I can say is that all the stick on mounts are curved. Having a few with a flat base would have been helpful. Still it's very cheap for what you get.
I checked out that youtube clip Jeff. Nice image, nice driving too. Not stock '87 that's for sure.
Pity about the sound quality but they're not alone in that dept. Good value for money.

Mine came with 3 flat stick-on mounts, 2 curved stick-on mounts, and the suction cup mount...
I also have a bullet camera mounted in the front bumper - so this is to "supplement" that (interior shots, rear facing, etc.)

I just got one and have a question. The memory card sticks out the side a little. With the camera out of the plastic case, it works fine. But when I put the camera into the plastic case, the memory card gets pushed into the camera a little bit and turns the camera off. The camera won't turn back on unless I pull a battery and reinsert.
What am I doing wrong?

Doh!
I had it in the right way, just didn't push it ALL the way in until it clicked. The thing seems fragile so I was afraid to press the memory card in too hard.
Works fine now, thanks.
