To me, that scene was the best of the movie. At first I thought they were fast-forwarding through the video, then I realized it was actual speed! Man, those LMP cars are fast! You could also tell from his description just how much McNish is dialed in to that track.

It had in-car footage from the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring presented by Fresh from Florida, the 1,000 km of Monza, and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. All of the talking was really needed to explain to people who might not know about Le Mans-style racing.

i was not impressed, i turned up the volume on the surround sound for some great sounds, but heard nothing!!! It was great to see how they trained and Mcnish did do the best job (never knew they spelled his name wrong as well). But then again they are the nfl network, what do they know about racing.
The in car footage at night in the rain was scary though, takes ***** to drive like that at night.

I thought it was extremely well done for what it is. Remember, this was not a "Movie" where you can shoot multiple times in multiple angles and load cars up with specialize equipment (ie: Le Mans and Grand Prix). This was shooting the actual events as they unfolded - real time. What I loved about it was this documentary was not about the drivers, it was about the team. The engine guru, the engineers, the pit crews, the "boss", and the drivers. The real hero of the win was really "H" the lead engineer, which was fantastic!

I walked the entire circuit at Sebring yesterday. The most impressive thing was how much speed the Peugot and Audi R15 carried into turn 17. It was absolutely unbelievable. I watched it time after time and each time I said to myself, "no way, just no way, he's going to spin out". It was particularly impressive as contrasted by the GT2 cars which were certainly taking that turn fast also, but appeared to be in slow motion by comparison.

I guess it could have some voiceover.
But give us civilians the look from the driver's eye.
Here are some much better examples:

ANd this one is amazing- Here's Mike Hawthorn in 1956 in a D-Jag, doing a lap at speed while there is normal road (not race) traffic:

Uuh...this is not only what the film was about. If you want "in-car footage" watch the actual race. This was a documentary about the whole team.
It would not have made any sense to have the story be about just the drivers and what they overcame.
This was a well-told and shown video about all aspects of endurance racing.
Very well done.

I'm not asking that the whole documentary be about the drivers.
But in a documentary about a 24 hour race, I still think not finding time in two hours for 4 minutes of a single lap at speed was an unforgivable omission.

Overall, I give it a B+ to A- for the story, the footage, and background information and overall quality of the production. It was told as if the producers requested a documentary to be made without it being a "typical racing film." I think it worked quite well and enjoyed it quite a bit.
