Dan, go to http://clubregistration.net/, LRP race, view roster and it will tell you the group pairings.

As far as the totem pole, I guess we can race for last place......

2 weeks before the race and everyone is soooooo quiet.........

What happened to all the smack talk and bench racing before the event?

Is everyone still in hibernation or winter depression?

Well.........

Wake up and smell the coffee guys..........

Raceday will be here before you know it.......

Time to get your motor mouths started..........

As I won't be there, I'm keeping a low profile.
The Glen, however; will be quite another matter. I've even booked rooms already.

Best of luck to all, and I expect heated recounts and videos, sans carnage, if you will.

To be honest, I've generally haven't seen a lot of smack talk before the races, and especially so when compared to the smack talk before a DE event. My guess on the difference between the DE smack talk and the racing smack talk is that there is nowhere to hide at a race. After the first run, you get your time sheets and we learn who can talk the talk and who can walk the walk.

At a DE, it's easy to talk smack, because there is nothing to show that you can't walk the walk. Even if a guy can't keep up, he can claim that he got stuck behind someone that can't give a pass signal or he was behind someone in a long no-passing zone and that whoever he was chasing was gone once they got into the passing zone. All of those excuses don't apply in a race setting.

So... you are either going to talk smack and look like a fool when your timesheets show that you are so far off the pace that they ask if you'd feel more comfortable moving down a sprint group as part of an exhibition class.... Or, you can back up the talk and you just appear to be arrogant and gloating...

Brian, man you are making this racing thing sound serious.......

What happened to having fun and a little competition amongst friends?

I guess I might as well cancel now since I am a rookie and there is no way I can
compete with the veterans or deal with the shame of the "timesheets"........

In your case, Paolo, cancelling out would be eternally unforgiveable, and the moderator would likely kick you off Rennlist. Much better to chance any timesheet shame.

It's a ton of fun and the competition is what makes all of us better drivers. BTW, get a radio so that somebody can tell you when the green flag drops as you are rounding west bend.

Paolo, let me know if you are looking for a radio kit. I have one for sale. ;-)
