Default Photos of winning DP cars on display at Brumos

The ropes to keep people away from the cars weren't being used, because the maintenance guy was cleaning oil that is apparently still flowing from the 58 car, so I got a chance to get close to the cars.

Nice pictures, almost a shame to clean them up for the next race.

One of the salesmen said that the #58 car was heading to Daytona soon to be displayed in the "Daytona Experience". He didn't say for how long.

Hard to see the twelve pounds worth of missing parts.

But I agree: they're prettier when they're dirty.

You need a lot more dirt than that to hide their ugliness...

I didn't see your post until after I made mine. I beleive the winning car is kept at the track for a year.

Great pics! I was in Jacksonville today and stopped by before I headed home to Tampa. I must have been there the same time as you because the guy in the white t-shirt in on eof your pictures was there and we were talking.
I got to breifly speak with Hurley too. He is very nice an approachable. Funny thing is he actually remembers me when I went to PSDS 2 years ago...because I had my prosthetic leg tightly straped via velcro to the inside door handle so it would not flop around in the car when I was on the track and Hurley come over and yanks my door open which yanked me prosthetic leg 1st right out of the car. He felt bad and we laughed!

The winning car goes to Daytona...but it is just the body work on a different chassis. The actual car goes back to be preped for the next race but with new body work.
