CGomez, you should apply for a rookie license with PCA club racing at your earliest opportunity and attend the first club race that is convenient for you.
The only PCA club race that is on this year's schedule which does not include a "rookie school" is the Daytona club race. We may even include rookies at that race this year.
The "rookie school" includes the Orientation meeting the night before the first day of racing, all of the practice sessions on the first day of racing and the practice starts and practice race, normally held at the end of the first day of racing.
The "club racing" school at a PCA club race does not teach driving techniques (which it sounds like you don't need) nor do you get specific feedback on your driving. Rather, we assume that you already know how to drive and want to start racing or join us from another sanctioning body, and the Orientation meeting serves to educate attendees as to the differences between racing and driver's education events, plus brings out the differences between PCA club racing and other sanctioning bodies.
Call Susan Shire, PCA club racing's licensing coordinator at 847-272-7764 during regular business hours central time zone if you have any additional questions. She'll gladly walk you through the licensing process.
You'll enjoy the program.
See you at one of the races,

Guys, thanks a lot for the responses and help. Now its just a matter of filling in the paperwork (and that little detail of paying for the racecar....)
