Tires for track and street
#31
Are you looking for Street Tires that are good on the track or Track Tires you can use on the street?
I'll recommend both, but if you are only doing this occasionally and are not at the advanced-intermediate level, then you should get street tires.
Street Tires:
Hankook R-S2
Falken Azenis
Kuhmo MX
Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Spec
Bridgestone Potenza RE-01R
Yokohama Advan AD07
This first 3 are pretty inexpensive, but very good tires. You will not find anything better for the price. The last 3 are a lot more expensive but are some of the best street tires.
Track Tires:
Michelin Pilot Sport Cup
Toyo R888

Nitto NT-01. Great tires. I got 34 heat cycles out of a set last season, and I used them on the street as well. They are heat-cycled out, and I flat spotted the fronts due to a dumb-a$$ move at the track... Otherwise, they have a ton of streetable tread left.

I wanted street tires that I could take to the track on occassion and got the Kuhmo MX. Got more than 12K miles out of the rears with 2 DE and 7 auto crosses. Very good in the wet as well!
