soooooo..... since I was contemplating CR next season, I wanted to know if to do well (podium finishing) I have to be born with talent or I can somehow purchase it thru coaching......
that is all.... no hidden agenda Pete........

P.S. it is Paolo......Italian, not Spanish.....
Can't you just actually go racing and have that be your short term accomplishment? Do you have to win your first time out for it to be an accomplishment? I'd be impressed if you just finished your first race weekend and I really mean that in them most sincere way. That is an accomplishment!

Great point Mark, thanks....

Wouldn't it be easier to try and disprove "all of the above" (especially since that's the most probable answer from an anecdotal perspective)?
1) Name any pro or amateur competitor in any sport that became a consistent winner with zero coaching, practice or determination.

2) Now name any pro or amateur competitor in any sport that became a consistent winner with zero talent.
Great post.

You make good points.....
My short term goal is to just finish my first race uneventfully

But what is wrong with working on how to achieve long term goals?

This is America, isn't it?........

Nah, it is all natural talent with absolutely no work on the part of those who podium. Those who have to work at it are only wasting their time and money.

Next ridiculous question?

I've only noticed one thing that all podium finishers have in common - they all applied for and obtained a racing license.
