Tim:

That has been my understanding since the time Hoosier offered the contingency to NASA.

Now if cars were actually trailered to an event then it would be different.
Are you being serious? I think I raced at 7 PCA races last year...I could count the number of "drive in & race" cars on my fingers.

Yeah, you are right about it being PCA (from everything I have heard in the past), but I really don't think Hoosier is pushing the idea. It would be interesting to see if they would offer a contingency if PCA came out and officially sanctioned the idea of a tire contingency. I just don't get how it is that Hoosier is "unwillingly" being treated differently than CDOC for example. I am not sure Hoosier really wants to do it.

I do bring most everything to the track. (even a full set of tires on rims as they do fit in the car. after all, its the porsche station wagon )

Wow Mark, i'm really impressed! I heard that someone in a red 928 was able to do that, but I didn't believe it until that pic. I was able to do that with my M3's but not my GT3.

I agree Hoosiers are good but there are other viable options. I have run Kumho V710's for years in PCA E and F and consistently finished near the top barring mechanical problems - even have a few track records on Kumho's. My point is that if "everyone is running Hoosiers" than of course the winners will be on them. Maybe if more people chose to run other tire brands Hoosier may consider offering a contingency.

I have loved Kumho's. Unfortunatly, they do not offer the tires in my size right now.

They used to offer PCA Contingency and I can see on thier website that they do not. Maybe the same advice from PCA.

This is why PCA never has had good trophies (maybe they do now. I have not been around in a couple of years) They give everyone the same thing whether you came in first or last. I think it is wrong for the kids in sports at the grade school level and I think it is wrong for us. Why diminish our acomplishments.

I drive a GT3R car, I know that only .05% of cars that race with PCA are driven to the track. Lighten up guys!

To date, I have not received an answer from the PCA Club Chairman on why PCA does not have tire contingencies. I'll shoot off another email and CC a number of other PCA officials this time.

Hoosier contingency for NASA was for 2008. Nothing has been announced for 2009 yet and word is it is still up in the air.
