Default Looking for a drivers side floor plate

You know the kind that smooths out the ridges on the floor of a stripped car so my feet won't have problems moving around.

I don't want to spend more money than my car is worth so any input is appreciated.

I'm not married to CF or aluminim at this point.

I used thin alum and cut out my own. I then took the piece to a company that sprays bed liners on truck beds and they sprayed it for me. It works great.

Also, rennline sells something too.

But I am not sure what model car you have (I don't want to assume you were talking about your 944).

I covered mine with a role of self adhesive skateboard paper similar to sandpaper. It offers great slip protection and also evens out the ridges. It can also be removed very easily if needed and is cheap. I have pictures if you are interested?

I'm too cheap for that, just got me a bit of rustoleum added some sand and brushed, not rolled, it on. Works great.

I cut a piece a lauan (spelling? thin wood used as a subfloor under linoleum etc) to fit.

And I thought I was the only cheap one one this board??

When I stripped my interior I had it sprayed with a thin coat of the truck bed liner stuff and have been very happy with it.

However, I'm looking for something like the Rennline one but don't want to spend that kind of dough for what is basically a thin piece of aluminum...

I could not get away with putting a piece of luan down as I would never live it down with all the grief I'd get from my buds (being a contractor). I already get grief for bringing a big piece of 3/4" subfloor to use as a jack support...

I copied this basic concept from a 996 cup car. Plywood and some spray on bed-liner. Not pretty, but effective.

I have a Rennline driver's floormat. It is very nicely made and fits well. That said, I haven't really used it since I started racing. I mainly used it over the carpet when doing HPDE but in racing I have just left it out. Have not found the floor to interfere with my shifting.

But if you are looking for one... their stuff is VERY nice. Not cheap, but very nice.

I need to do something like that. I don't have trouble with my feet getting hung up but my right foot just sits too low if I rest it on the floor.

I am planning to make exactly this out of some aluminum diamond plate. Use a cardboard template and cut my own. Some grip, but freedom to move. Looks good too.
