Default Karting New years day - GPNY Westchester

Other than recovering from hangover new years day is always quiet for me. I just received a note from GPNY to say that karting is half price.

Anyone up for meeting around 2pm and doing a few races?

Confirmed:

Sup John

Given the savings I might grab a bunch of people and turn it into a group thing. Will check with you before hand. Congrats on the Tech2, would like to check that out. Yes i'm a stalker.

Did anyone get an email they can post? Might as well join as a year member. This is way cheaper than V17 right?

hmm.. tough choice.. i'm 1-15 mins from v-17..

sorry deleted the original mail. each race is 12 minutes long and normally costs $20 but between 12-7pm on 1/1 its only $10 per race.

Wow.. 12 minute races. thats great!

I ended up going to V-17 for the first time new years day. They must be hurting for business, since open dropped annual membership from $60 to $20 and upped race time from 6mins to 8 mins. Also offering buy 3 at $18.50/ea and get one free. The facility of GORGEOUS! Major money invested in that place.

Ran 3 races (first with me and the lady only), electric carts are a totally different experience. Instant torque down low. Karts really varied, was pretty dissapointed. Best time, 49.1secs. Jumped in a kart with no grip, couldnt beat a 51. annoyig.. Track record, 44secs. Got some work to do...

I'm down to go to V-17 anytime!

Did anyone end up going?

I was up Tues night, met with Sy, and ran into Matt Farah from Garage419, apparently he races there a lot It was my first time there and I dominated of course lol I only ran two races and ran a 29 flat on uptown. Once I get my arms out of physical therapy, I think a 28 flat should not be a problem...rehabing nerve damage from hockey and building the E46, sucks....40% loss on left arm after elbow alone.

Anyways, I really like the place, and am looking forward to going back.

I really want to get a faster kart out there though, maybe a 125 tag or something.
