Same here. I will be there for the meeting this Monday. Any kind of show of support for the Park will go a long way. Today at lunch I had a good conversation with someone deeply involved with the city of Dawsonville. He is under the impression it is good for the community and sees no reason it should be voted down. He does not have any input with the council members who make the vote but he did say they will vote on how the wind is blowing that night. So the more support they have the more likely it will get passed.

Drifting
I won't be driving (didn't know in advance if I could go or not), but I might be there wrenching for my dad in our 928. If you see a multi-colored 928, that's probably us... not many of those out there. Have fun, I'll try to stop by and say hello if I can make it.

I think the road course will surprise people. While it looks bland on paper, when you really look at the features, its going to be a very exciting and technical/fast track. On paper Lime Rock looks boring too, but when you drive it, it has a very high average top speed, and is very technical and unique experience. I'm looking forward to making some trips down to AMP once its done. They're doing it right, and are making fantastic progress...especially in this economy, its very promising.

I'm not excited about the layout either, especially the distance. But it has to be better than Roebling, and it's so close who could resist?
I don't consider doing it right the whole country club idea (especially the part about the horseback riding, tennis courts and other nonsense). Some of that money (and space) could be used for more track surface. Build a great track and you don't need all that crap. Especially when Atlanta is right up the street for entertainment purposes.

The track, garages and basic amenities (banos) are Job 1. We'll see if/as/when clubhouse, hot tubs, cold tubs etc, get installed. I for one will not be pressing for them.
The track design may be more quality than quantity- with more elevation change than RA or Barber it could be a gasser. Won't know until its driven but I'm betting it will be fun for a mid-week blast (I'm 40 mins. from the track).
