Default OT - anyone used HSBCDirect or DollarSavings online

Anyone had experience with their savings account products?

They are paying 4% on savings ..

Their site indicates FDIC insured.

DollarSavings is part of Emmigrant Bank .

Any input appreciated.

Thanks,
Norm

I have had a good experience with my ING "Electric Orange" account but it's not paying 4% right now. For balances of $100,000 and over, it is currently paying 3.00% (which they report results in a 3.05% annual yield). I might have to look into the other two you mentioned.

I use HSBC...for a few years now. The rate was (obviously) alot better a couple years ago, but still better than you'll get most places for over $100k balances.

No fee ACH transfers to brokerage or other banks. No complaints here with the service...other than the taxes paid on interest, of course.

Thanks Jeff & AC993 - AC are you using HSBC or HSBCDirect - their online only product - which is the one I am looking at?

Thanks,
Norm

Norm,

I use HSBC Direct and have not had any problem, they do have good rates. My only minor complaint is that the bank to bank transfer takes 3-4 working days. They are FDIC insured.
