Just shoot me a PM.
Some tracks (VIR) require them on the 986 model.

Back on the slippery slope! Way to go! Cliff note the Boxster Spec stuff for suspension ideas. GT3 seats are a nice touch.. Harnesses.. BK bar (be sure to broomstick yourself to ensure you are low enough with a helmet on btw).. I found my BK bar pre-owned for about 1/2 of retail price, so shop around. ."r" comps are always nice.. then go have some more fun!

I would just recommend, that if you put 6pt harnesses in you keep the 3 point to. I did and it makes it road legal, worth doing. also another hint, If you buy the Schroth belts for the GT3 seat, it has special connectors at the seat. but the belt is more expensive for the same Profie II belt with clip hooks at the mounting point. CDOC sells a conversion braket that will allow you to use Schroth or other competitive belts.
The Porsche Schroth Belt that you can buy from the P does not have as nice of a Release mechanism as the regular Schroth belt. See below.

I'm looking at a 987 Boxster S myself and found this thread interesting. The BK products suggested are for 986 and state "Will not fit 987". Is there another that will?
Have you considered the 997 GT2 seats? Fantastic and I'm planning to put a set into my GT3. Set-up for 6-point, extremely light, has thorax airbag... Only thing is they are expensive - about $6k for a pair if you shop.

Looks like I may be getting back into some tracking. Wifey green lighted an event this weekend at the former Moroso. I'm way excited.
Anyhow, I have the opportunity to buy some GT3 seats. In discussing this with one of the Porsche dealer mechanics, I found that apparently it isn't possible to switch the factory seats for the GT3 seats and maintain airbag funtionality. Since I don't have plans to make this a track only car at this time, I don't want to inactivate the airbags. However, I'd love to have better seats.
Does anyone have any info on this in terms of verifying or refuting my mechanic's opinion?

Ron, 987 based Boxsters have taller factory rollhoops and likely, therefore, less room between the top and the hoops. I think this is why BK doesn't make one. I am sure a "cage maker" would be happy to create one for you though you may have to remove your top
