Some of you have been asking about tires. I have them now updated in the original post. There are links to the actual classified pages. Also, factory black Carrera S Lobster Claw wheels with 70% MPSCs on them.

Good luck Jared.

My buddy was the guy who blew his motor in front of you at the Carolinas DE at VIR.

Some good advice already. I think Dell has been over things 10 ways to Tuesday. He'd be one of the guys I'd be listening to.

Chris,

The guy in the Miata? That sucks. That was pretty wild. The whole thing caught on fire. Ouch.

Yeah. I'm definitely listening to Dell and everyone. It's good to have friends who have been there before.

Looking forward to seeing you on track soon! We'll get you something figured out. As most have said it really should be based on 2 very important things:

1. What is your budget
2. What class (pick the class then the car)

I was talking to him. Didn't do anything. I need to call his shop (you?) as he has suggested. I've had a really busy few days.

Despite it all (here's where most of you think I'm thickheaded, useless, and downright dumb) but right now, I'm still leaning towards having Synergy build mine. I've already sold a ton of unneeded parts. If I sell the rest for what I expect, I will only have to cough up $10k or so to have my car be a complete Synergy build car... Car #15. Tempting, knowing how much I trust Kerrigan and how it'd be great to work with him.

Also on that car, it would put me in GTA, correct? I'd be running against Cup cars. That's a deterrent, but as I said and will profess for far too long a time, I don't know much about the classes and such. I'm a quick study though, and I'm putting all my spare time into figuring out where I want to be.

As Dell said, there are two main questions. I've put the answers here too.

1) What's my budget? Anything up to $120k. I'd rather not push that.
2) What class do I want to be in? I'm not thinking GTA. Doesn't seem smart for a first time racer. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's a big hangup in my rationale right now.

Any info, and I'm all ears. I posted this thread to get thoughts. I got a lot, then I turned it into a yardsale. Sorry for that. I won't do that anymore. But I'd like to air out all the thoughts I have here and see what shakes down. Thank you all in advance.

Jared, it sounds like you are pretty much leaning toward GTB. It's a great class with great potential once it gets a bit larger.

With respect to Q1, don't forget to take into account not just budget for the car but budget for the year (entry fees, consumables, maintenance, etc)
