Sure.. There is a group of 4-5 of us coming from ATL together. We still haven't nailed down where we are staying. There isn't a hole lot out there?!

We're staying at the Best Western in Danville as reccommended by Dell.

We'd be up for some chow. And pints.

There's also a Sleep Inn closer to the track, not bad at all, very clean, fairly new... Now...if you plan ahead, you can stay at the Lodge right on the property!

They have a pretty good restaurant and bar there too, which for us that stay at the Lodge is where you'll find us every night. I'm real easy to find....not many blue wide body 914's out there.

Sleep Inn "closer" to the track? Come on Bob, it's just right across the street from the Best Western. I guess technically it is closer though.

Can't beat the Lodge though if you don't mind paying the premium and the Tavern is great for dinner. I'm up for dinner there EVERY NIGHT!!!!

OK, then I guess i don't know where the Best Western is... the only one I ever stayed at was in downtown Danville many years ago.... The Sleep Inn is by the airport, much closer than the middle of Danville.... But, if there's another one closer... my bad.

yes, we end up at the Tavern every night, but we only eat at the bar...never actually been in the restaurant side! (are you surprised?)

Also if you want to stay at teh track, the cheapest places are the rv/trailers in the corner of the paddock. 100bucks a night last I heard and they often were empty for most events, at least earlier in the year.

We stayed at the Villas a couple of weeks ago for only $79 / night.
Call the track and see if they'll let it go for that much (usually about $150/ if I remember correctly)
The view looking down the uphill esses is unbelievable.

Hey Canuck... with all those RVs and trailers at your disposal, I don't understand why you and that cute little Spanish Fly don't take advantage and stay right at the track. They do have water and electical hookups there. And I'm sure those rigs have heaters. It would also give you someplace to hang out of the elements, if the weather happens to be uncooperative.

Anyway - you WILL enjoy the track, of that I have absolutely no doubt. So - have fun and a safe round trip. It's a lo-o-o-ng one. I'd guess 15 or 16 hours of just driving time one way for you. I hope it doesn't snow when you're going through the mountains in Pa.

Perhaps we'll see you when you get back.

The Best Western is on the other side next to the Hardee's a couple tenths a mile up front the Least Inn

Does that hold a lot of people? For that coin you could stay at the Lodge or Suites.

$79 a night? Something doesn't add up Eddie. Those Villas are WAY PRICEY and need to have 3 or 4 people going in on one to make it reasonable enough.

It can max out at 4 but it's a very cozy four with one person in a top bunk. It has a double bed, a fold down couch bed, and 2 singles as bunk beds. I think it would be best as a place for Dad and the kids to stay at the track.

What's teh lodge now? 150? Suites 225? Those are the numbers that are stuck in my head.

The lodge and suites are priced based on the season. I think this coming weekend they are in the 125 range for the lodge rooms.

If that's the case then I'd guess teh trailers will be less than 100 bucks. 75-80 if they drop the same rate.
