What I like the most about DEs.......

I and plenty of others gave you some true answers. Zoom in hard on details that require strong focus and/or become an instructor and the like. There are plenty of guys that both DE and race. The OP was a good question and it was garnering some good answers. Your thinly veiled bragging about following close is where folks are having boisterous fun with you. Perception changes as you advance. What you think is boast worthy might not be to some others and they are only making fun of your continued hubris. Not bragging will assure you of not getting made fun of.
This is the crop you planted.
BTW. Editing the OP and removing video links then things don't go as planned is poor form.

If you go to youtube and type in Bostondmd in the search category, you
can watch all my videos.......
BTW, do you have any videos showing your great driving skills, or are you like Bull.....all talk......?

Another perspective:
If my goal is to go fast then I do not want to see another car around me, traffic = slow which takes the "close" out of things. If on the other hand I want to goof-off then I hook up with a few cars I know and we harass each other. If we are having too much fun the nice little old lady working t-16 at sebring usually gives us a few hand gestures.
Good times, enjoy we all are very fortunate to participate in motorsport.

No offense, but close driving doesn't really exist in a DE (nor should it). Maybe you can get two racers who know each other who can drive close in a DE, but not two random people.
I don't know if you can, or at least not without going racing. Before I made the leap to racing, I was telling my driving buddies that DE's were starting to feel like masturbating without even finishing.
Once I started racing, DE's became fun again. Although I now have a completely different mindset about DE's and what my goals are when I go to a DE.
What do you enjoy the most out of a DE,
and how do you prevent it (after so many DE days) from becoming monotonous or boring?

Brian is 100% correct about the close driving scenario. Larry's son and I ran DE's for awhile together and would typically be 1 to 2ft off of each other's bumper for an entire session. We knew each other's driving and were comfortable. After a racing, I look at the behavior as too aggressive for a DE format. Sure were fine, but other drivers are not and they are paying to be in a controlled environment without the drama.
