Close???? By close do you mean you can see another car?
I agree with all of the above...set new goals, instruct, go racing, improve the Happy Hour(s), get better grid girls.

Try to get through one entire DE weekend without going off track and then posting the video on Rennlist because you have no idea what you did wrong. Until you can both 1, get through a DE weekend without going off track and 2, self analyze what you did wrong before your tires even leave the track surface, you don't know enough about your own driving to go racing IMO.

Please don't. See my post above. You shouldn't driving closer to other cars as if this is some sort of "dare" from Rennlist. This isn't 3rd grade. This is a dangerous hobby and you're not just risking yourself when you screw up.
You aren't yet to the point where you can drive consistently enough to be driving any closer to other cars on track. You need to know what is going to happen BEFORE it happens before you start entering corners on the bumper of another car...and you need to know that the driver ahead of you has the same level of awareness and ability.
Seriously. Stop worrying about following other cars and drivers...spend your next DE concentrating on yourself with a goal of not leaving the track surface and not spinning because you're constantly thinking ahead of yourself and predicting hiccups before they even happen.

I'll keep it on topic. I like hanging out with the people the most. I've made some great friends. I like looking at the other cars in the paddock, seeing the craftsmanship and ingenuity, getting ideas. I love going out on the track of course, but that has never been my only reason for attending. I see DE events as a way to relax from the daily grind and stop thinking about work, family, things to do. It's an escape and I love it for that reason alone.
