Default Fire

We had a fire at a local high-end condo storage unit that is estimated to
exceed +$10m in damages due to the items stored there. It was reported
that several high dollar Cuda's. a $1m Prevost and more importantly, a
Porsche that was one of two built in the USA, and had competed at LeMans.
Any idea who's car it was, or more importantly what type of Porsche it
may have been. I do know that there's a 962 in the area owned by H.S,
but I wasn't sure if he stored it there? Just curious about the Porsche that
was unfortunately destroyed.

Thanks!

Mark

Mark-

That was H.S.'s 962 and motorhome. Also several other cars, what a sad loss.

Very sad. I remember seeing Don Stiles Camel Lites car (baby 962) many moons ago at Mid Ohio. Certainly one of the cooler cars out there.

I could see the smoke from my our rear deck 5 miles north on Monday. What a tradegy! no amount of insurance money can replace the history of those cars.

Damn! What a loss.
I got to see Don's 962 (on pole) out the rear window of the pace car for one of the Mid-Ohio PCA club races. He actually ran it a few years. An awesome sight that I'll never forget.

Alan, Do you remember when he went airborn at Mid-Ohio and cracked the tub when it landed?

RT930Turbo:

I was hoping that it wasn't Haps 962. What was the history on the car
and any hopes of rebuilding it? What a shame but at least no one was
hurt.
