Anyone run their Toyo R888's to the cords?
I've got 3 DE weekends on my R888's (unshaved), and no tread is showing on about 2/3 across of the front tires, and the rears are smooth about 1/4 of the tire. Once they lose tread, is there any life left in them before they get to the cords? Based on what I've seen w/ friends' RA1's, I was expecting to get more out of them. I ran them on the 360; 2x at Roebling, and 1x at Sebring.

David,
We have corded some on the Spec Boxes. Once you get smooth, you are pretty close to done unlike the RA1. They cut the R888 grooves almost down to the carcass so be ready. You are about there.

Thanks Jay, this was my first set and my friend who had run the RA1's said he got a decent amount of time on them between once the tread was gone to when they corded.

You can run RA-1's slick for a long time. I have never cored a set of RA-1 other than flat spotting.
I do not have the same experience on R888 as my first set only has 6 heat cycles. However they may cord soon after they are slick. Hard to say for sure since the body of knowledge on the R888 is so much smaller than for the RA-1.
